I have the honour to forward for your

information the enclosed extracts from the Canton Intelli-

gence Report for the two months ended 30th June, a copy

of which was kindly supplied to me by Mr. Consul-General

Jamieson.

Since these interesting passages were

written events have happened to contradict many of the

facts recorded.

The most important is that the Kuo Min Tang

proves to be by no means dead as I have recorded in a

separate despatch.
